Christmas Eve Eucharist - 10 PM

God is telling Saint Andrew’s on-the-Mount that we are the light on the hill. We are a rising church of the risen Christ. We must tell the good news to the community on the Blue Ridge and do God’s work on the mountain and go forth from here into all the world.

Come welcome with us the newborn Jesus on Christmas Eve at 10 pm. The Rev. Victor F. Lawson, Jr. will lead us in the celebration of the Christmas Eucharist.

Almighty God, who gave such grace to your apostle Andrew that he readily obeyed the call of your Son Jesus Christ, and brought his brother with him: Give us, who are called by your Holy Word, grace to follow him without delay, and to bring those near to us into his gracious presence; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Unexpected Actions in Congregational Meeting

Yesterday morning, in a surprise move, Bishop +Mike did not allow the congregation of Saint Andrew's on-the-Mount Episcopal Church to proceed with the election of Vestry members and other delegates. Instead, he appointed two remaining members, Marilyn Bartoes and Melinda Keuroglian, and Richard Keuroglian to a Bishop's Committee (or Committee in Lieu of a Vestry). Bishop +Mike said that the committee will serve for the next quarter initially and that he expects accountability from those he appoints.

Kate Conant was appointed a member of the Nelson Cluster (Regional Ministries) Pastoral Care team (with Victor+ Lawson and Georgia DuBose) and delegate to Diocesan Convention and Eastern Deanery and representative to the Nelson Cluster Council. No one agreed to be a second Council representative as of yet.
